2018

On Sunday 25 November (Feast of Christ the King) Rev Christine blessed our new Lectern Falls, Palls, Altar Linens and Credence Table cloths.  Here are a few photos of the splendid items.  The Lecterns falls and Palls were crafted by June Bremner and the Altar Linens were crafted by Pam McDonald. They are truly wonderful.

We are pleased to announce that St Columba’s Episcopal Church has been deemed to be among the top three best rated churches in West Lothian.  You will see, however, that the picture, portrayed on the article, is not quite accurate!  Well done everybody. It’s a joint effort from all of us in our wee church. To see more about this award click on the link …

Sunday 1st July

Our Annual Summer Picnic took place today. After a lively worship service a goodly number of adults and children had a picnic lunch. This was followed by fun and games at our local park. You will find pictures in our latest magazine.

(authorised pictures of this event in our magazine only).

The Annual John Newlands Procession took place in Bathgate on Saturday 2nd June 2018.

Our church was decorated to take part in the age old tradition. The brass bands were served breakfast, in readiness to meet the activities of the day. The tombola went down a storm too.

Here are a few photos of the day.

St Columba’s has been working towards becoming a Dementia Friendly Church. May 22nd saw us complete that process by becoming accredited by Alzheimer Scotland.

St Mary’s Cathedral Big Day Out

On Saturday 28th April, 2018 all the churches in the Edinburgh Diocese came together to celebrate the life of our churches.

Around 45 churches took part with over 400 people attending. There were lots of things to see on the individual stalls / tables set out. There were also many workshops to take part in too. It was a wonderful day meeting old friends and making new ones. Here are a few photos of the day.

And of course, no after church gathering would be complete without a cake.  Thank you to Liz Frew.

Saturday 31 March

The Church is decorated in splendour ready for The Feast of Easter Day

Come and help us celebrate our Risen Lord. Alleluia, alleluia

Maundy Thursday

After the Stripping of the Altar and reading of Psalm 22, The Watch took place til’ 10pm

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Some members of St Columba’s and St Peter’s (Linlithgow) are currently away on a trip to Rome. (February 21st for a week)

They appear to be having a great time.  Here are some photos of their time away. (Click on each photo to enlarge)
