Saturday 3rd December – our Annual Christmas Lunch
A date no-one likes to miss. This year our tickets sold out as usual. Seventy people sat down to a fantastic turkey dinner. Soup/Paté, Turkey and all the trimmings, Trifle/Christmas Pudd. Mince pies and chocolates to follow. All washed down with lashings of tea/coffee. Wow – if that tea/coffee pot came round once ….
What a day. Many thanks go to our fantastic chefs who excelled themselves once more. Many thanks also to the servers, dish washers, clearer uppers and all who took part in one way or another.
Here are a few pictures of the happy event…. (click on each picture to enlarge for a clearer view)
Saturday December 10th …
saw our Church packed again. Andrew Gerrard, who is one of our choir members is also a member of the Bathgate Brass Band, suggested he bring the band to play some Carols for us. It was a marvellous turn out and topped off by a visiting Polish Choir who joined us. The Band were excellent (as befitting an award winning ensemble). The Choir were absolutely stunning.
West Lothian is twinned with Hochsauerland in Germany (40 years) and Arnsberg in Hochsauerland is twinned with Olesno in Poland (near Krakow). Through our twinning links the choir asked to visit West Lothian. As luck would have it the choir were free that afternoon and 24 members of the choir visited our Church.
After being entertained and singing ourselves hoarse we enjoyed tea/coffee and snacks afterwards. What a fantastic end to our Centenary Year Celebrations. Thank you, Andrew, for suggesting this event. Also to all who contributed in any way. It truly was a marvellous end to our year.
